The event

Host to more than 4,000 participants, the Thames Path challenge is set to be the most popular event of the Ultra Challenge series.

Throughout the course, you will find a faithful companion in the River Thames, as it will guide you for most of the way! Along the route you will also witness the Royal Hampton Court Palace and Windsor Castle, among other attractions.

By taking part on behalf of Link Ethiopia, you will help us to continue our work in changing lives through education. With the money you raise you will help to empower teachers, improve schools and ensure that all children can get a good education.

We will also support you with any help or resources you might need, to get you on the right foot with fundraising. Please fill out the contact form on this page if you have any questions.

FAQ

How much does it cost to take part?

The cost to reserve your place varies according to the distance you choose to cover. If you would like to run 25km, registration costs £29. The fee for a 50km challenge is £39, while for the full 100km course, the registration fee will be £49.

What support will I receive?

You will receive free refreshments at each checkpoint and at the finish, an event pack and a finish pack.
Run for Link Ethiopia and we will be on hand to give you the advice and information you need to achieve your fundraising goals. You will also get a spot in our hall of fame!

When and where does the event take place?

The route starts off in Bishop’s Park in Putney and continues through Richmond, Runnymede (the halfway point), to finish in Henley. It will take place during the weekend of the 12-13th September 2015.

What is the course like?

This is a unique route in that it runs almost entirely alongside the River Thames. Along the way, you will encounter mostly countryside with a few urban areas. Expect to pass Hampton Court Palace and Windsor Castle as well!

How much should I fundraise?

The fundraising minimum ranges depending on the distance you choose to join. If you decide to run 25km, the fundraising target will be £175. At 50km, the target will be £295, and if you choose to run the whole course of 100km, the minimum will be £475. This will allow us to dedicate a larger sum of money to the causes of Link Ethiopia.
We will provide each team member with information to set up an online fundraising account, a fundraising pack, and guidance and support from our fundraising team to help you achieve your goals.
