The event
A half marathon set along coastal paths, the National Trust Durham Coast Half is as scenic as it is challenging. Gentle undulations on the route are interspersed with steep ascents and descents through a series of denes.
A family fete organised by Durham Heritage Coast will greet runners as they cross the finish line. Friends, family and kids can enjoy Punch and Judy, refreshments, circus skills classes, and learn about rare birds that visit the area.

How much does it cost to take part?
Entry to the Durham Coast Half Marathon costs £16.
What support will I receive?
Each runner will receive a goody bag and a tech T-shirt. When you cross the finish line there will be a cup of tea and a slice of cake waiting for you as well. There will be prizes for the first three men and women, as well as prizes in the age categories.
Run for Link Ethiopia and we will be on hand to give you the advice and information you need to achieve your fundraising goals. You will also get a spot in our hall of fame!
When and where does the event take place?
The event begins at Noses Point, Seaham off the A182 and the finish is Crimdon Dene, situated off the A1086.
What is the course like?
The course is challenging and the organisers warn that it is not for the faint of heart nor those attempting a personal best. The coastal trail will involve gentle slopes and inclines, but will also be peppered with more challenging ascents.
How much should I fundraise?
Individual entry is bought by the participant so there is no fundraising minimum for this challenge. Raise as much as you can and all proceeds will go towards our projects and schools in Ethiopia.
