Wash & Go has been committed to football since 1999, when it became the official shampoo of the FA Premier League for two years. Since that time, the brand has supported future football greats through a series of grass roots campaigns with school children and Sunday League teams. Initiatives have focussed on much needed tools to help communities take a step towards their football aspirations, providing thousands of kits and footballs, coaching sessions and copious amounts of top flight match tickets.
During its 2006 campaign, Wash & Go gave a team kit away to Mairead Macbeth, who decided she would donate the strip to a needy team she had met during her support work in Ethiopia. It was from this act of kindness that a new Wash & Go grass roots football campaign was born - Score Ethiopia!
Link Ethiopia is a UK based charity that supports education in Ethiopia and fosters links between schools in Ethiopia and the UK at all educational levels. Link Ethiopia funds and manages projects in Ethiopian schools to provide them with basic facilities and improved quality of teaching. The schools that are supported will often have inadequate drinking water or toilets and insufficient classrooms. Link Ethiopia's school links are between Ethiopia and the UK and are an opportunity to increase cultural understanding and give pupils a wider view of the world in which they live.
