Sports coaching

If you enjoy sports and exercise then this could be the placement for you. Ethiopians are sport-mad, particularly when it comes to football and long distance running, however most schools lack necessary resources to offer a broad and engaging sports programme. Engaging with young people through P.E lessons and extra-curricular clubs, you'll use your passion and sporting knowledge to bring a whole new side to the sporting life of schools.

What you'll be doing

Visiting a number of schools on a weekly basis, you'll bring your sporting skills to life by training kids in a variety of sports and physical activities. Perhaps you could introduce some new sports into the mix - your pupils would love it! You'll also help set up inter-school tournaments, sports days and other competitions to give young people a chance to follow their dreams of sporting glory.

Why you are needed

Sport is a passion shared amongst all young people in Ethiopia. Most schools have very limited sports equipment (often only a few old footballs) and may not even have a sports teacher. Bring your passion and experience of different sports, we'll provide the equipment, and you are sure to leave a lasting gift.
